Being a signatory to the United Nation Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, India acknowledges that all educational institutions of the country will be inclusive and would provide reasonable accommodation to persons with disabilities for providing quality education. Only providing admission in education institutions will not serve the purpose completely. An institution needs to provide sufficient facilities and adequate infrastructure to enable students with disabilities to pursue their studies.
The administration of Swami Shraddhanand College has displayed sensitivity towards this development and has taken sincere steps to create a disable friendly environment in college. It has to accelerate its endeavours in a fixed timeframe and should have aimed to provide facilities to print disabled teachers and students so that they could enjoy equal rights as their fellow students.
In order to providing representation in college administration to differently abled teachers, Swami Shraddhanand College (University of Delhi), Alipur, delhi-36 established Equal opportunity Cell (EOC) in august 2009.
